NEW YEAR'S DAY: Mostly cloudy, but partial clearing possible

Good morning and Happy New Year! This morning, many area roadways are icy and slippery. High temperatures will be in the 30s today, so that will be able to melt throughout the day. Skies will be mostly cloudy, but there could be some clearing throughout the day.

I"m continuing to watch a robust winter system that may impact the first half of the work week. It appears that models are in agreement that we'll have some precipitation, but the problem is when/where we'll switch over to a snow/mix. It will be a tricky forecast and will be a messy system.
