We've had absolutely perfect weather the past few days, but that, unfortunately, will be coming to an end tomorrow (Friday). A storm system, which is currently situated over North Dakota and Minnesota, will head our way overnight and into Friday morning.

This disturbance will usher in a swath of rain and embedded thunderstorms throughout the morning commute and probably will continue through the lunch hour. I expect showers and thunderstorms to start to push into Central Wisconsin around 6-7AM, with eastward movement.

Although this is going to be a relatively quick-moving system, it has the potential to drop at least 1" of rain, if not upwards of 2" in some spots. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw locally higher amounts.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed areas south of a Wisconsin Rapids - Oshkosh line under a Level 1/5 risk for severe weather. I doubt we will see severe weather, but if for some reason we do, it will be short-lived and probably just pose a small hail and/or a damaging wind threat.

After the rain clears out, which should be in the early afternoon, I expect clouds to stick around. I wouldn't rule out a few pockets of sunshine, but don't count on it. The lack of sunshine will cause temperatures to stick around the 70° mark.
