UPDATE (Sat Aug 6 - 11:55 AM)

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 2 (slight) risk for a VERY small portion of the area.

----------

Good morning! For lack of a better word, today will be pretty miserable. Dew points will be in the upper 60s and even into the low 70s. High temperatures will then be in the upper 80s and the low 90s, maybe even a mid 90 locally. This will make it feel like the mid-upper 90s.

Later this afternoon, a cold front will sweep through the area, which will fire off some showers and storms. You can expect periods of showers and storms, and locally heavy rainfall. The Weather Prediction Center (WPC) has issued a 'Medium' risk for flooding, so be aware of that. Remember, NEVER drive through flooded roadways.

Although severe weather is not a huge concern, there is a chance for some isolated severe storms. Damaging winds would be the main threat, but small hail cannot be ruled out. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 1/5 (Marginal) risk across central Wisconsin.

I will be keeping you updated on this potentially dangerous heat and the potential for severe storms throughout the day today.
