UPDATE (2/23 2:05 PM) The National Weather Service, in coordination with neighboring offices, has decided to drop the Winter Storm Warning for the entire area. This is due to the improving conditions across the area. Nevertheless, still, use caution as roads are still slippery out there.

UPDATE (2/23 8:30 AM) Good morning! I hope everyone is making it through the storm. I did see that there was a pileup in Manitowoc County last night, but according to reports, everyone made it out okay.

❄️ We are finally getting some snow reports in. The highest report I've seen thus far is Iola, where 13" of snow has fallen. There is some snow still to come (see radar below). Due to the blowing snow, it will be very difficult to measure exactly how much snow has fallen, but really all you need to know is the conditions out there. See the graphic below for more snow reports.

🚗 Road conditions are not great. We're seeing some icing on the roads near Stevens Point, so use extreme caution. Pretty much everywhere else, there are snow-covered roads.

⚠️ Remember, a Winter Storm Warning is still in effect for the area. For areas south of HWY 64, the warning will now expire at 12PM this afternoon. Elsewhere, the warning is still set to expire at 6PM.

A Winter Storm Warning is set to go into effect at 6 PM tonight.

⏰ Across the far southern tier of counties (Waushara, Winnebago, Calumet, and Manitowoc), this warning will begin at noon Wednesday. This warning will go into effect at 3PM Wednesday for areas along and near Highway 29 (including Door and Southern Oconto counties). Finally, the warning will go into effect at 6PM Wednesday for areas essentially along and north of Highway 64. This warning will expire at 6PM Thursday for all of these areas.

❄ The snow overnight has moved out of the area and we are awaiting the next round of snow. You can expect snow to move into the area yet again later this afternoon/evening. I expect an additional 10"-14" of snow across much of Marinette, Oconto, Brown and Kewaunee counties and all of Door County. Elsewhere, I'm expecting another 8"-12" of snow.

💨 Winds will be gusting up to 45 MPH at times throughout the duration of this storm. This will create blowing and drifting snow, especially during the day Thursday, when the snow will likely turn to lighter, fluffier snow. White-out and blizzard-like conditions are certainly possible during the day Thursday.

🚗 To be blunt, do not travel if you don't have to. Period. As we've seen with previous storms, counties will likely issue tow bans, which means you won't be towed until conditions eventually improve.

- A travel ban has been issued for highways 41 & 441 in Outagamie County until further notice, according to the Sheriff's office.
