Over the day today (3/22), the surface low over eastern Kansas this morning will drift slowly east to eastern Missouri by late this afternoon.

THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE TUESDAY

Here's a look at the Severe Weather Outlook for Tuesday. Severe weather is not expected, but non-severe thunderstorms are. Showers/thunderstorms are expected to move into the area around 10-11AM and will continue to move in throughout the day, eventually switching over to mix/snow.

SNOWFALL FORECAST

I am thinking 3"-6" across the far north, but the further south you are, the less snowfall that's expected. Across Wausau, Shawano, Antigo, and Northern Oconto County, I expect 1"-3". Just to the south, I anticipate 0"-1".

*Snowfall totals may shift north or south*

EXCESSIVE RAINFALL

This notes that there is a 5% risk of rainfall exceeding flash flood criteria within 25 miles of a point.

THE FORECAST

Now that all the outlooks and snowfall forecast is out of the way, we can now talk about the actual forecast.

TODAY: A surface low over Kansas will drift slowly east to the Eastern Missouri. As this low-pressure system moves closer to the Great Lakes region, bringing a swath of rain, but at times mixed precipitation. Most of Northeast Wisconsin will see rain as the dominant form of precipitation. There will also be some snow - across the Northwoods and some mixed precipitation.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Florence, Forest, Northern Marinette, Oneida and Vilas counties. This advisory will go in effect at 10PM tonight and will expire at 1PM Wednesday. This is for the potential for 3"-5" of snow, but I am forecasting 3"-6"+ and ice accumulations around one-tenth of an inch.
