OVERVIEW

It's going to be an active week of weather. We'll see a few chances of storms, some being severe, all while dealing with the heat and humidity.

MONDAY: We'll see the arrival of showers and thunderstorms in the late morning into early afternoon. There is a risk of isolated severe storms, but they should mostly stay south of the Fox Valley. Temperature-wise, it'll still be quite pleasant outside.

TUESDAY: It'll start to turn hot and humid Tuesday. Dew points may get into the upper 60s-low/mid 70s, which is quite oppressive. I wouldn't be surprised to see heat indices (feels like temps) well into the 90s and possible into the low 100s. If possible, stay in air conditioning. Otherwise, make sure to take plenty of breaks, drink enough water and stay away from alcohol.

WEDNESDAY: It'll be much more active Wednesday, but we'll keep the heat and humidity. Again, it will be hot and humid with heat indices in the 90s/possibly in the low 100s. The heat and humidity will bring us ample energy to fuel storms. All parameters look to be in place (at the time of writing this forecast). As with most Wisconsin severe weather setups, the timing of the front is key. If the front passes through the area during peak heating, then we should see at least some strong storms, at the very least. Given that the atmosphere will be so unstable, there should be some severe storms.

However, if the front passes after peak heating, it would be a little tougher for these storms to get going. If we don't see any storms, refrain from making rude comments and take your anger somewhere else please.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY: It will finally cool off following the passage of the cold front on Wednesday. Although high temperatures will still be a few degrees above normal for mid-June, it certainly will feel much nicer out there.
