Happy Independence Day! There's quite a bit to go over in this forecast ranging from high temperatures, humidity, and storm chances.
OVERALL FORECAST:
A cold front that passed throughout has left us in a hot and humid air mass. Today, we will see sunny skies, allowing temperatures to soar into the 80s and 90s. Many areas are in the low-mid 80s already today. A weather station in Green Lake County is reporting a whopping 182º! 🤣 For the humidity - you can expect dew points in the low-mid 60s, so definitely could be worse, but to the best of my knowledge, this is the highest the dew point has been this summer!
THUNDERSTORM CHANCE:
Another cold front will be passing through the area, which will fire off storms. We will have to keep an eye on storms in western Wisconsin this afternoon. Storms in western Wisconsin will bring the potential for severe weather in our area. The highest threat will along and north of a Wausau-Antigo-Florence line. (Shown in the severe weather graphic) I will be keeping an eye on those storms and keep you updated should any watches and warnings be issued.

Should we see any strong or severe thunderstorms, expect heavy rain, lightning, damaging wind and large hail. While there is always a tornado chance during severe weather, that is not at all the main threat.
My Twitter page automatically posts any watches and warnings that are issued. I highly recommend following that and turning post notifications on. www.twitter.com/NEWIWeather
