We are seeing some scattered showers as we near lunchtime. Later this afternoon and evening, however, is going to sweep through the area, bringing a chance for thunderstorms that could pose a severe weather threat.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Level 2 (Slight) risk for the far western portion of our area and a Level 1 (Marginal) risk for the rest of the area, except for the Lakeshore. The timeframe to be weather aware is around 5 PM through midnight.
Should anyone see strong or severe thunderstorms, you can expect damaging winds and large hail as the primary threats, though a tornado can never be completely ruled out.
