WEEKEND FORECAST: Mild and a few chances of rain, thunderstorms

FINALLY! A stretch of mild weather! Unfortunately, it won't last...

SATURDAY: It'll be a very nice day Saturday, finally! We'll start in the morning. Models are depicting a chance for dense fog. Some spots may have visibility near zero, according to some models. We'll have to keep an eye on that. A warm front will push north and eventually stall over the UP border. Our forecast area being south of the warm front, we'll be in the warm sector, which will allow for high temperatures to soar into the 70s and even into the 80s in the typical warm spots! Onshore wind from Lake Michigan will, of course, keep the immediate Lakeshore much cooler than the rest of the area. We'll stay mostly sunny and rain-free for much of the day, but some unsettled weather will arrive later in the evening.

A cold front will approach from the west late Saturday, however, instability will be limited, so I'm not expected a severe threat, but can't rule out isolated thunderstorms, otherwise, it'll be rainy.

SUNDAY: The cold front will continue pushing off to the east, bringing a chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Again, cannot completely rule out severe weather, especially there may be a pocket of instability pushing back into the area, which could bring a few strong storms. Overall Sunday will be much cooler with temperatures in the 60s. As the cold front pushes through the area, temperatures will drop and rain chances will end.
