CURRENT ALERTS
Check out the weather alerts page.
WIND FORECAST
We could potentially see blizzard conditions late Thursday through Saturday morning. This is what concerns me about this storm, especially since so many people will be traveling throughout this time.
Blizzard conditions are possible throughout the evening on Thursday and through Saturday morning. Travel will be very tricky and hazardous at times. Please use extreme caution if you must travel, otherwise, stay off the roads if you can.
WIND CHILL FORECAST
An arctic blast of air will also arrive during this timeframe. Air temperatures will reach as low as -15°. The air temperature combined with the wind will create dangerous wind chills as low at -25°. Make sure to cover any skin you can as frostbite can set in very quickly. Please limit time spent outdoors. The National Weather Service has said that they will not issue a Wind Chill Advisory for this wind chill event due to it being a "marginal event".
TRAVEL
Travel has the potential to be dangerous at times. If you can avoid travel, do so. If not, make sure to take all precautions possible. Have an emergency kit in your car, food, water, warm clothes, blankets, and even a shovel. It's better to over prepare than find yourself in a dangerous situation with no supplies.
DISCLAIMER
Any shift in the storm track will shift these totals one way or another. I will continue to track and look at the models, and then we'll go from there.
