Winter Weather Advisories posted ahead of quick-moving system

Writer: Northeast Wisconsin WeatherNortheast Wisconsin Weather

We will be dealing with a weather system early tomorrow morning and throughout the day Monday. This will be a quick-moving system - moving into the area around Monday 2AM and pushing out of the area by 10PM Monday, if not earlier.

It will be a mixed-precipitation event. Across central and north-central Wisconsin, you can expect a short period of freezing rain/sleet. For the Wausau area and points south, that timeframe will be between 2AM-8AM. For areas north of Wausau, that timeframe will be roughly around 6AM-12PM. Elsewhere, precipitation will stay in the form of rain.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the purple shaded counties shown below. For Menominee, Marathon and Shawano counties, this advisory will go in effect Monday 2AM and expire at 9AM. Elsewhere, it goes in effect at 4AM Monday and expires at 12PM.
